The Iliad of Homer in two volumes

WAS £19.99 £9.99

Product description

A matching pair of small volumes in hardback with light brown cloth covered boards. Embossed pattern on the outside of the front and rear boards. Both have Flaxman’s designs as illustrations.
Volume 1 has wear and erosion of the front hinge externally with moderate wear to the corners and edges of the boards, and to the top and bottom of the spine cover. The main defect of this volume is two areas of loose pages: the first is the four initial title pages and the second p 15 and 16. The front internal hinge is sprung but remains functional. Vendor’s label on inside of rear cover.
Volume 2 is very similar but it has a section of the spine cover missing and the internal front hinge is almost completely sprung..
A nice pair of volumes but with considerable wear and defects – and priced to take this into account.
