Product description

The Man Who Died by D. H. Lawrence with illustrations drawn and engraved on the wood by John Farleigh.
The book is bound in brown boards with half marbled design in red and olive green. Board edges and corners are bumped and scuffed with fraying at top and tail of spine. Gilt titling to spine is faded but legible. End and title pages are foxed but the large format text is clear and distinctive. There is an inked inscription on the front end page dated Xmas 1937. Illustrations are drawn and engraved on the wood by John Farleigh and comprise a frontispiece of "a saucy flamboyant bird" and nine more within. The pages are in good condition with small spots of foxing mainly in the margins and are rough - edged. Binding is secure.
