Interesting in their own right as poems but also as a perspective on late Victorian values.

Frances Ridley Havergal (1836 – 1879) was an English religious poet and hymn writer. . She also wrote hymn melodies, religious tracts, and works for children.

There is an inscription inside the first volume reading: 'Margaret Johnson, 39 Maine Prospect Pk, Belfast 9'.

No slipcase. Some rubbing wear to the extremities of the covers, with bumping to the corners. A couple of the internal pages are loose at the front of two of the volumes. There are also occasional internal splits at the spine, and light wear, however the pages are all complete and in a reasonable condition.
