London, 1948. 158 pages, 263 in text line illustrations, large format about 10 x 7 inches, green paper covered boards backed with red cloth, lettered in black at spine, coloured panel upper board with image of Rupert sitting on log talking to a lizard with a bicycle (as one does), this volume repeats the cover illustration first used for the 1932 issue of 'Monster Rupert' which contained five different stories, four Rupert stories in verse illustrated with numerous in text line drawings, first story 'Rupert and the Three Robbers', in spite of the many faults the cloth is sound and the binding is holding well, heavily rubbed at extremes. With loss at edges and corners, many scratches and other marks to covers, 'belongs to' panel completed in pen, a number of images part coloured and several other marks, many short mainly marginal tears and chips especially at tail of spine. Includes the stories "Rupert and the Three Robbers", "Rupert and the Little Prince", "Rupert and Bill and the Pirates" and "Rupert and the Magic Hat".
