Publisher: Chapman and Hall, Picadilly, London, 1870, 1st edition, green half-leather. Hardback, 190 pages, 12 full page illustrations and portrait of Dickens by S.L. Fildes. Cover, in green half leather with green cloth boards, is in fair to good condition commensurate with age with bumping and light rubbing to corners and rubbing tp spine extremities and light rubbing down spine edge, a two inch split at bottom of front spine edge and a very slight split at top of spine edge. Internally the book is in generally fair condition commensurate with age with usual moderate foxing and light tanning to pages. While the binding is generally firm and tight for the major part of the book, it has separated at front cover and the ffep and the Dickens frontispiece portrait are loose. No inscriptions, creases or significant marks (apart from the foxing mentioned above). Overall a decent and largely sound 1st edition copy (which would benefit from a little professional repair work) of this, the last (and sadly unfinished) novel by Dickens with highly atmospheric illustrations by Luke Fildes.
