The Poison Belt being an account of another adventure of Prof. George E. Challenger, Lord John Roxton, Prof. Summerlee, and Mr. E.D. Malone, the discoverers of "The Lost World" by Arthur Conan Doyle, illustrations by Harry Rountree, Third Edition, published by Hodder and Stoughton, 1913. Small hardback, no DJ. pp 199. Small blue cloth hardback with black lettering and illustration to front board. Spine very faded with gilt lettering and black illustration. Back board showing signs of wear. Back hinge of spine broken and spine loose from back board. Spine torn at top and bottom, some bumping to corners. Personal inscription on front endpaper from 1913. Tanning on endpapers. The frontispiece, "The Stillness and Silence of Universal Death" is loose but complete.
