This volume includes Johnson's plan, and preface introductions to various editions of his famous dictionary. Also recounts his views on a large variety of subjects ranging from Shakespeare to the Falkland Islands. Altogether a superb introduction to Johnson's writing and ideas

The leather covers are pretty worn, particularly on the spine. However the internal pages are in a good clean condition and the binding is sound and tight. Overall in a reasonable condition.
