Product description

First edition set of The Works of Walter Savage Landor in Two Volumes. Published in 1846. Volume I p.578 and Volume II p.675.
Both copies contain authors dedications to John Kenyon, handwritten and dated 1846.
Volume I also contains a correction made by the author on the contents page, the addition of "Metellus and Marcius - 577".
Volume II contains annotations and corrections as well on p.674, the author replaces 'abolisht' with the handwritten 'witholden' and also marks omit around the final four lines of the poem.
Both Volumes are in very good condition. Both bound in brown cloth with gold gilt on front and back covers and along the spine. The spines also include floral gold details and the title and volume are printed onto green and burgundy labels respectively. Both volumes have marble leaf pages.
There are general marks of wear and tear on the outside of both Volumes I and II.
Volume I has so minor wear at the top and bottom of the spine and on the corners of the front and back covers and the label on the spine where Vol. I is printed is beginning to come loose.
Volume II has minor wear on the top of the spine and on the corners of the front and back cover.
The binding in both Volumes is very stable and the pages are in excellent condition.
