This book was published in 1887 by the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge. This book is without a dust jacket. The boards are a dark blue with gilt lettering on the front bard and spine. The lettering on the front board is the title and author of the book. The lettering on the spine is the title name of the martyrs (Livingstone, Gordon and Patterson) and publisher. The back board has the logo of the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge in black. The boards and spine show some wear from use. The corners of the boards and top and bottom of the spine have been bumped. There is some discolouration the the top edge of the pages, the edges are neat with some spotting. There is an inscription on one of the front free end papers dated July 1888. Due to the thickness of the paper the inscription can be seen on the back of the page. The title page has a price in pencil near the top There is various foxing through out the pages, despite this the pages are still readable and clear with no folds or tears. The hinge is tight.
