Publisher: David & Charles, 1998, 1st edition. Hardback with unclipped pictorial dustjacket, 96 pages, 31 full page, colour paintings plus numerous b&w illustrations and pictorial mendpapers. Foreword by Generalleutnant Gunther Rall. The cover, in black boards with gilt titling to spine, is in excellent condition. Internally the book is in excellent condition throughout. Lovely pictorial endpapers. The unclipped dustjacket is in generally good condition with some shelfwear to edges and some light shelfwear related marks and rubs to front and back. A truly exceptional collection of wonderful colour illustrations of the greatest aeroplanes of WW2 in action, supplemented by a number of atmospheric b&w drawings (some full page) and page headings - plus a biography of the artist, introduction by the artist, 'Story of a Painting' by the artist, introduction to each painting by the artist and a foreword by German fighter ace Generalleutnant Gunther Ralls. Overall, a splendid and desirable book to appeal to all enthusiasts of aviation and history of WW2.
