Art of Jose Del Nido

£12.99

Product description

The theme of this book is undoubtedly homage to the female form, the sensuality of woman in the fantastic and often hostile worlds and wastelands. With the descent into dark sorcery and the secret sciences the woman -- sometimes victim oft times executioner -- reveals herself to the viewer. This is a true return to the best in heroic fantasy. Del Nido was born in 1959 near Barcelona in Spain where he continues to live and work. At 17 he started at the local art school and was soon exhibiting his works in small halls in Barcelona and the surrounding area. In 1980 his first covers were published in fanzines and he was soon discovered by Barcelona based publisher Norma Editorial. Working with digital art -- his favourite programme is Painter -- he has since created numerous covers for books and magazines throughout Europe and South America. Art Fantastix is a series of illustrated books dedicated to Pin-Up and Fantasy Art from around the globe. From household names like Clyde Caldwell (TSR) and John Bolton (Batman) to exciting newcomers like Dorian Cleavenger and Michael Mobius. Every book concentrates on the work of one artist and shows uninterrupted full colour images including many full and double page spreads. Quality printing on heavy paper with a complete index including model references where known, they waste little time on anything but the results. German and English text.
