Bristol’s 100 Best Buildings

£50.00

Product description

Bristol’s 100 Best Buildings
Mike Jenner
Redcliffe Press, Bristol, 2010.
Presentation edition to celebrate 50 years of the JT Group.
Hardback with plain red slipcase; 215 x 275 mm; red boards with titles in gold on spine and front cover; 160 pages. No dust jacket. Profusely illustrated with colour photographs.
The book is in near fine condition and beautifully presented with only a few slight marks on the slipcase. The verso of the front free endpaper has a hand-written dedication in blue ink from John (Pontin) of the JT Group to Tim “with my gratitude and deep appreciation for all you have contributed to the progress of the Group for more than 37 years. Thank you...and all the very best for the future. With warmest good wishes...John 30th June 2011”.
The book presents a selection of Bristol’s architectural and building legacy. Each building and its history are described with accompanying contemporary colour photographs. Apart from the buildings expected to be here (Bristol Cathedral, Temple Meads Station, etc) are other architectural gems such as the Concrete House from the 1930s designed on the lines of Le Corbusier’s Domino house structure. The book will therefore immediately appeal to all those with an interest in architecture.
