Charles Umlauf - Sculptor

£19.99

Product description

To Charles Umlauf, Sculptor "all art which is significant and lasting must have a religiousness about it .... it must be felt, it must be very personal, and it must be based on an inner conviction". From this belief emerges the wide range of media and subject that characterises this sculptor's search for expression - the charm and vitality of a small animal study in alabaster; the gripping power and movement of the full-scale human figure in bronze.

This first published presentation of the sculpture of Charles Umlauf, whose artistic activity covers a span of thirty years, is a representative fraction of his total production. Trained at the Chicago Art Institute, the sculptor has for 25 years taught sculpture and drawing in the Department of Art of The University of Texas.
