Hepplewhite, Sheraton & Regency Furniture / F. Lewis Hinckley

£24.99

Product description

This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket is slightly faded near the spine, but is otherwise in excellent condition with little wear. The top page edges are slightly speckled and have a pen line, but the pages are clean, tight and unmarked.

This book contains 379 black and white photographs of furniture from a wide variety of collections.
"The subject of so-called 'Old English Furniture' now takes on greater interest and understanding through an ease of recognition and appreciation of the imaginative designing skills expressed in such prestigious capital city masterpieces as those appearing in the present illustrations. Many have been made possible here through photographs submitted by the more knowledgeable and certainly the most ethical members of the antique profession. For many years Mr. Hinckley was a member of that group, following which he has privately appraised and vetted antique furniture for leading collectors, dealers, auction and appraisal firms, insurance companies, governmental agencies, the White House, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and others."
