Bennett Coleman & Co, The Times Press, Bombay. Hard Backed. It is probably a first edition as there is no indication of previous editions. As you can see it has black boards with gilt lettering and the corners and spine are a bit bumped, and there are some lighter marks on the front cover
The book is not dated however it looks to be from the early 1900s - this is a guess from the photos & style of front cover lettering so please don't quote us on that.
The contents are not numbered but comprise: title page, 1p preface to the first edition, separate title page "City of Calcutta, 20pp of illustrations from photographs [from 1 to 4 images per page], 4pp ditto of Darjeeling, title page "City of Bombay" 28pp of similar illustrations, separate title "City of Madras" 24pp, title page "Selected Photographs of India" 42pp. Two pages have become detached but are still in the book. Apparently such books were often not bound as well as they might have been be so detached pages are not so unusual. However, this book is a rare example - not many out there. Only those photos of Darjeeling have a photographic credit [Burlington Smith, Darjeeling]. The central pages form a good panoramic view of Bombay.
