Le beau pour tous

£34.99

Product description

This book is the story of two free women, Maimé Arnodin and Denise Fayolle. Their audacity allowed France to open up to style, design and graphics. From the newspaper Le Jardin des modes to their agency Mafia, passing by Prisunic of the great era, talented young artists found with them an unusual energy and momentum. They were surrounded by graphic designers and exceptional illustrators such as Roman Cieslewicz, Jean-Michel Folon, Michel Quarez and Alain Le Foll. Gérard Pipart, Emmanuelle Khanh, Sonia Rykiel, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Kenzo and Issey Miyake were given a chance before the world. At their request, a young English designer named Terence Conran designed furniture for the general public. Photographers Guy Bourdin, Helmut Newton, Peter Knapp and David Seidner have signed communications campaigns that have become legendary. Two years of searching for archives and interviews, more than three hundred unpublished documents retrace the adventure of the "beautiful for all", or how two exceptional women have succeeded in bringing creation down the street.
