Card boards; 185 x 245 mm; red titles on spine, boards otherwise plain; vi & 90 pages. No dust jacket.

The book is in fair condition. The binding is sound. The covers are grubby and tanned with open (part of the title is missing) and closed tears on the spine. Page end tanning.

Paul Hogarth (1917 – 2001) was an English artist and illustrator. He is best known for the cover drawings that he prepared in the 1980s for the Penguin edition of Graham Greene's books. He had distant connection with William Hogarth. He was one of the first artists to visit China after the Second World War. This is his journal enhanced by numerous sketches. He already had a reputation for reporting in inaccessible regions when this was published.
