Product description

This hardcover book is in very good condition overall. The red cover has a gilded title on the spine, and the dust jacket is included. The cover of the book is in very good condition, and is only blemished by a couple of small markings and some very minor fraying on some corners. On the jacket there is also some minor fraying on the corners, as well as along some edges. There are also some tiny tears on the jacket, less than half a cm long overall. The original price is on the back of the jacket, and has not been cut. Inside, the pages of the book appear to be in terrific condition without any major issue. This book has vibrant and colourful posters and illustrations, and there is no wear which hinders or impacts enjoyment of them.

This is a book about posters, specifically railway posters. This is the sixth of eight volumes which aims to cover the entire 20th century history of railway posters. The book contains a foreword by Michael Palin, and contains prints and posters found in the National Railway Museum at York.

'Within this book readers can view wonderful poster images issued by the Pre-Grouping companies, through the era if the 'Big Four', then the British Railways period into the age of Intercity and Virgin posters.'
