He has lived in Derbyshire for most of his life and his home area of the Peak District and southern Pennines exerts a huge influence on his exquisite paintings, even though he travels the entire country searching for subjects. Apart from the illustrations the book contains a wide-ranging interview with Rex Preston who casts a fascinating light on his upbringing and development as an artist and on the creative process. The foreword is written by Michael Mosley, Granby Gallery, Bakewell.
