Sir Bannister Fletcher's A History of Architecture

£14.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

This unique reference book places buildings in their social, cultural and historical settings to describe the main patterns of architectural development, from Prehistoric to the International Style. Again in the words of Sir Banister Fletcher, this book shows that 'Architecture ... provides a key to the habits, thoughts and aspirations of the people, and without a knowledge of this art the history of any period lacks that human interest with which it should be invested.'
Although this copy comes from a school library it has only one library stamp and a reference number on the title page. The dust jacket has been price clipped and is held in a protective clear plastic sleeve, also it is sunned, particularly on the spine but is otherwise in very good condition. Text block edges are a little dust marked but all text is clear on clean pages and the book is profusely illustrated with b/w photographs, clear maps and attractive, precise diagrams.
A very heavy book, requiring courier delivery.
