The Book of Fairies

£39.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

This is the collection of her three initial books, Flower Fairies of the Spring (1923), of the Sumer (1925) and the Autumn (1926). Her volume of Flower Fairies of the Winter was only published posthumously. She was a fine and meticulous artist in various media and was famous both for her figures of children and for the botanical accuracy of the surrounding botanical display.

Blackie undated hardback with no DJ. The end papers are plain grey with no design. Owner's name and numerical stamp on the ffep. The introductory pair of pages which start the Summer portion are detached and lie free and are rather worn around their edges. There are two line drawings on these pages. The 72 colour illustrations are all present. The remainder of the binding is good but one or two pages are dog eared and two of the initial pages have a small triangle missing from their lower corner.

A lovely book, sadly not in pristine condition. However all the illustrations are there and are well worth the asking price.
