Turner's rivers, harbours and coasts

£7.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

Eric Shanes, following his important Turner's Picturesque Views in England and Wales, has here gathered together several of these series of marine and inland subjects, including 'The Ports of England', 'The Rivers of England' and 'Picturesque Views on The Southern Coast'. All of them date from when Turner was at the height of his powers. Their natural unity derives not only from the land- and seascapes which were a constant source of inspiration to him, but also from the common interests that linked the four men who commissioned them. More than ninety of these lovely 'views' are reproduced in colour in this volume. This book is in very good condition. There is very slight curling on the bottom spine edge of the dust jacket but the pages are clean with the starting of light foxing to the exterior edges of the pages.
