Lynda Snell (played by actress Carole Boyd) took us on a behind-the-scenes tour, of the best-known village in soap history, in 1999, to give us her guide to Archers country.
Since she and husband Robert took up residence in Ambridge Hall, in the late Eighties, Lynda has been a central part of happenings in the village. Scarcely a play, fete or charity event has taken place without the redoubtable Mrs Snell and her own special brand of organisation.
With her crusades for footpaths, community buses, the Countryside Commission, red phone boxes and hedgehogs - it's a wonder Borsetshire managed to get by without Lynda Snell !
Specially adapted by Carole Boyd from her bestselling book of the same title, "Lynda Snell's Heritage of Ambridge" offers an intriguing insight into village life - its culture, its wildlife and, most importantly, its residents ... All told with Lynda's unique perspective on life !
Whether you're an Archers addict or an occasional listener, this feast of anecdotes is guaranteed to enhance any future visits to Ambridge.
