Energy and Empire - A Biographical Study of Lord Kelvin

£17.99

Product description

Published in 1989 by Cambridge University Press. Illustrated with photographs, diagrams and formulas of his work. With extensive footnotes, bibliography and index.

This study of Lord Kelvin, the most famous mathematical physicist of 19th-century Britain, delivers on a speculation long entertained by historians of science that Victorian physics expressed in its very content the industrial society that produced it.

Complete with dust jacket, which does have creasing, rubbing and couple of small tears along its bottom on top edge. There is some bumping, rubbing damage to the bottom edge of the front board, with a bit of staining in the same position on the front end paper. However apart from these flaws the book is in very good clean condition with a tight binding.
