The Mayor and the Matron

£7.99

Product description

This first edition book from 1971 is signed (not dedicated) by the author on the inside front page, includes a foreword by the Rt Hon. Lord Butler of Saffron Walden and includes 12 pages of black and white photos. The book is in a used condition with scratch marks, stains and creasing to the cover and spine, including at the bottom of the front cover where it looks like a piece of sellotape has been pulled off taking part of the top layer of the cover with it. There are minor creases to the corners of the pages and stains to the edges of the pages (only seen when the pages are closed) including a pen line and possible tea stain. Most noticeable on the first and last few pages, the binding has become worn but all the pages remain firmly in place. The pages themselves are in fine condition apart from minor colouring to their edges and some pale cream spotting in places, caused by sunlight or ageing. This book will appeal to collectors of first and signed editions of the period.
