Acrow 40 Years On - The Success Story of Achievement through Team Spirit

£5.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

The book is in excellent condition, with only some minor fraying along the edges of the dust jacket and a minor tear at the back. The book has no internal damage. The dust jacket is yellow with black lettering, while the book itself is black cloth with gilded lettering.

This book, published in 1976, was made to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Acrow group, a company founded by the inventor of the acrow prop (also called the BS prop or jack post) William de Vigier. The book begins with a comparison of the company from its founding in 1936 to 1975, looking at the number of employees (3 to 10,000), the space owned and rented by the company and issued capital (£150 to £7,482,544). This is followed by a message from Mr de Vigier and then a timeline from the founding of the company to 1975. It then covers the company's expansion in detail, including international growth and acquisitions, listing them and including photographs of sites and senior management, starting in the UK and then looking at Acrow branches internationally. The book ends with a graph of employee numbers, followed by graphs of product turnover, overseas business and how much of their product is exported. Included in the book is a typed and signed letter by Mr de Vigier addressed to his workers.
