The House of Macmillan

£2.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

An odd book - this is the story of the House of Macmillan. Specifically, Macmillan publishing. The Book follows Alexander and Daniel Macmillan as they go from Scottish Crofters on the isle of Arran. It chronicles their progression from humble booksellers to small-time publishers, to a firm of great importance publishing the likes of 'The Jungle Book' and 'Just So Stories' , the Poems of Lord Tennyson and Lewis Carrol's own 'Alice in Wonderland'. This book is their story, written by one of their writers, inspired by their legacy.

This book is in good condition all told. there is some aesthetic damage - shelf wear and spine tilt, primarily - but this only affects the book's appearance, and not the rags-to-riches story held within.
