Beloved Chicago Man

£8.99

Product description

Beloved Chicago Man comprises a collection of the letters of Simone de Beauvoir, written in English to her lover Nelson Algren. The letters give an account of de Beauvoir's life in the 1950s and friendships with Camus, Colette and Genet. This book "is an invaluable portrait of a writer and her era; but above all it is an intensely moving record of the pains and joys of a long-distance love affair."

The front of the dustjacket has some rubbing, creasing and a slight tear to the bottom right hand corner. There is also some discolouration to the page ends, the most significant being at the top of the book.
