The Littlest One: His Book.

£24.99

Product description

Actually a combination of The Littlest One: His Book and The Littlest One Again, plus additional poems, published in this edition in 1927. Marion St. John Webb wrote poetry for many illustrators to accompany their pictures and shares the sentimental view of childhood so common at the time. Tightly bound in wine red boards with bright gilt stamped vignette on the front cover and another on the spine, titling also gilt. Apart from minimal toning to the charming pictorial end papers and slight foxing throughout, also age soiling to all text block edges except the upper gilt edge, all text is clear and the illustrations are delightful. There is a neatly inked gift inscription on the ffep, dated 1928, also a more modern name, written in Biro, underneath.
