The Small Miracle

WAS £10.99 £5.49

Product description

The Small Miracle by Paul Gallico, with illustrations in colour by David Knight. Published by Michael Joseph in London, 1953, fifth impression.

The story of an orphan boy Pepino, and his donkey Violetta, set in Assisi, the home of St Francis. When Violetta falls ill and the vet is unable to do anything to save her, Pepino seeks permission to take her into the crypt of St Francis to be blessed and saved, but realises he has to go to higher authority when that permission is denied.

With some shelfwear, discolouration and foxing to the front and back board cloth cover, this copy retains its gilt titles but is missing its original dustjacket. There are some coloured pencil markings to a couple of the pages (please see photo) and a slight crease to the back endpaper. With sound binding, this book is beautifully illustrated throughout.
