The World of Pooh

WAS £29.99 £14.99

Product description

The enduring popularity of Christopher Robin's 'bear of little brain' means that he has been published in many formats and editions - this collected edition first appeared in 1958, and had been re-issued 12 times by 1976 (the date of our copy).

Alan Alexander Milne (1882–1956) was an English author, best known for his books about the teddy bear Winnie-the-Pooh and for various poems. He was, however, a noted writer (primarily as a playwright) before the huge success of Pooh overshadowed all his previous work.

Our copy is in very good condition, protected by an equally good (unclipped) dust-wrapper which shows almost no signs of wear except for some very slight creasing at the top of the spine. The book itself is bound in light red cloth with gilt title etc on the spine with an illustration of Pooh and a balloon, and likewise shows no sign of use or wear. The binding is firm, and all pages clean and bright. Page tops coloured yellow. Endpapers show map of the 100-acre wood (in colour). Eight full-page colour illustrations (by E H Shepard) enhance the whole. Included with our book are 12 coloured versions of some of the original B/W illustrations, printed double-sided on shaped thin card.
