Through the Magic Gate

£9.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

Seemingly rare. Lovely aged blue hardback with little fading or blemishes.

Hilderic Friend (author of "Flowers and Flower lore", "The Flowers and their Story" portrays the splendid, colourful botanic wonders of the world in an interesting way.

"There were many kinds of nymphs, naiades and oreades, and among them the water nymphs which dwelt in the pools, and cared for the living things which were found there. Now, as the water lilies grow in the lakes where the nymphs had their dwelling, the old Greek botanists called them the flowers of the nymphs, or nymphaea. Do you not think the idea a pretty one?"
