Discovering Smalltalk

£4.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

Discovering Smalltalk by Wilf Lalonde. Published by Addison Wesley 2001. 6th printing. Paperback. Some marks to edges. In very good condition.

This is an introductory text on the Smalltalk programming language. It uses the author's "discovery" technique to lead students through the process of problem-solving and algorithm development. The book demonstrates the power and flexibility of Smalltalk as an object-oriented development environment, and provides a reference to the most important classes in the Smalltalk library, including objects, strings, numbers, characters, ordered collections, dictionaries and graphical objects. It illustrates how the Smalltalk environment, including workspaces, inspectors, browers and debuggers can be used to support evolutionary software development. It also illustrates how object-oriented methodologies and related concepts apply to software development in Smalltalk. The book uses Digitalk V as the sample environment.
