White Eagles Over Serbia

£14.99

Product description

Based in part on the author's own experience of working for the Foreign Office in 1950s Yugoslavia, White Eagles Over Serbia tells the story of a secret service officer sent to investigate the murder of a colleague only to find himself caught in the crosshairs of the Communists and underground Royalists. The book was original published in 1957 and this is the fourth impression dated 1970.

This copy is a former school library book, and is stamped with 'Middlesbrough High School Library' along three sides of the text block. There are also library stamps on the front and back free end papers, as well as the back inside cover. The dust jacket has some light dust soiling, a closed tear, approx. 5mm, to the bottom of the spine, and a small 2mm chip to the top of the spine. There is also a mark at the bottom of the spine where the library Dewey reference number has been removed. The rear flap has a closed tear, approx. 2.3cm, at the top. The binding is tight and pages are clean.

"... really is a spell-binder... distinguished and desperately exciting book." Derek McCulloch in the 'Daily Telegraph'.
