WAS £11.99 £5.99

Product description

Madeleine Bourdouxhe's stories were mostly written in the 1940s, though some are more recent. The war is a constant presence, especially in the autobiographical final story about Bourdouxhe's escape from a Brussels nursing home with her newborn daughter in her arms the day after the German invasion. Translated and introduced by Faith Evans. This copy is in very good condition, with foxing to the edges of the page block; there is a tiny tear (2mm) at the fold over on the dust jacket; light tanning to a few pages.

Oxfam Bookshop Hexham

We relocated in January 2016 to larger premises and are now able to offer a wider range of books and music (you can come and check out your musical choices in our listening booth and also find out a lot more about Oxfam's work.). We have a new local interest section, more space for history and have extended our craft and arts offer.  We also sell cards, fair trade food and ethical cleaning and beauty products.

Hexham is a market town situated in the beautiful Tyne Valley - the ideal stopping off point before exploring Hadrian's Wall, Chesters, Housesteads and the Temple of Mithras at Carrawburgh.
