A Proper Man (First Edition)

£12.99

Product description

George Whyte is a celebrated concert pianist with such trappings of success as a chauffeur-driven Bentley, a Georgian house in Kensington and a plush retreat - where he spends most of his time - on an isolated stretch of the Cornish coast. He is autocratic, smug, but he is also deeply insecure with an inordinate fear of violence. Then suddenly into his ordered life comes Jim Kinnear, fresh from a ten year prison stretch, a virulent predator whose swift comprehension of George's state of mind gives him a terrifying hold over his prey. During twenty-four hours of an unbearable game of cat and mouse Jim taunts George to the limit of his endurance.

A Proper Man, Jonathan Lynn's first novel, is a tense psychological thriller which builds up in its last pages to a compelling and disturbing climax.

The book has its dust jacket which is not price clipped. There is some shelf wear and rubbing to the dust jacket and some fading to the top of the front cover. Internally, the pages are clean and the binding is tight.
