Around the World in Eighty Days

£34.99

Product description

An rare and interesting edition of a classic, this text is written in Pitman's Advanced Style Shorthand. In good condition, this is a pocket-sized, green paperback. The dark green cloth spine is sturdy, but shows some signs of use. The cover is discoloured with age spots and has a small pencil marking of a prior owner's name, although this is unsurprising in light of its age. There is an early owner's name inked on the front and back end-papers, but no further markings within. Along the edge of the pages, the book is yellowed from shelf-wear and has a small pen mark.

Embark on a hair-raising journey made as a wager by the Victorian gentleman Phileas Fogg, who succeeds - but only just! - in circling the globe within eighty days. Fogg's obsession with his timetable is complemented by his French manservant, Passepartout, whose talent for getting into scrapes brings colour and suspense to their race against time.
