Three short stories with Rumanian [sic] text, with a parallel text in English. translated and edited by Eric Tappe. As a study aid this book was intended primarily for English speaking people with some knowledge of the language, but it could also be useful to Romanian students of English.

The three stories are:

- Twelve Thousand Head of Cattle by Mircea Eliade. Set in Bucharest in the air raids of 1944.
- A Great Man by Mircea Eliade. The hero flees from the gaze of the curious to the forests of the Transylvanian Alps.
- The Cobbler of Hydra by Mihai Niculescu. Set among the isles of Greece.

Complete with an unclipped dust jacket, which has some rubbing wear and a slightly faded spine. The boards and pages are clean with a firm binding. Has a short gift inscription on the front end paper.
