How Green was my Valley

£9.99

Product description

How Green Was My Valley is a 1939 novel by Richard Llewellyn, narrated by Huw, the main character, about his Welsh family and the mining community in which they live. The author had claimed that he based the book on his own personal experiences but this was found to be untrue after his death; Llewellyn was English-born and spent little time in Wales, though he was of Welsh descent.
Red cloth binding, with silver title on the spine, which is sunned. The head and the tail of the spine are worn and a little torn, inside the book contains a few foxed pages (especially the first pages), the edges are yellowed but inside the pages are in good condition. Binding square and tight. This book is a first edition but 3rd impression.
