Les Contes Du Griot - The Griot Tales

£4.99

Product description

If the tales, Perrault and Grimm, are an integral part of our literature and our culture, those of other continents - particularly those of Africa - remain to be discovered ... Les Contes du griot de Kama Kamanda introduce us to other lifestyles, make us share adventures with other animals, other characters than we are accustomed to: children steal mangoes, monkeys compete with turtles. Africa is omnipresent with its legends, beliefs and fairyland that take us into a wonderful world full of naivety, sincerity and fantasy. These tales of African vigils from the oral tradition and beautifully transcribed by Kama Kamanda will provide an opportunity for pupils in the 6th century to discover the specific narrative structure of the genre. Because they are very short, these texts can easily be read and explained during a session.

Excellent pages, a little edge and cover wear.
