Product description

Barbara Pym. First edition, 1961, used hardback in good condition, with dust jacket (not price clipped) in good condition. Dust jacket slightly grubby externally. with wear and bumping to the upper and lower edges, particularly at the spine, where there is slight chipping at the top and a 1 cm square missing at the bottom, along with a 2 cm closed tear along the front edge. The spine is darkened, with the title being faded but still legible. The book (blue cloth boards with darker vein decoration and lemon titles to spine) is bright externally with only minor signs of wear. There is a small (< 1cm sq) brown mark to the rear board and the spine has a vertical crease. The spine is slightly cocked. There is a biro mark across the bottom of the text block. Internally, the endpapers a re slightly browned. The front paste down has a small bookseller's label attached (Foyles, London) . The ffe has a discrete previous owner's signature in ink, together with a date. Otherwise the book is clean and bright throughout internally with tight binding.
