The Black Biplane

£9.99

Product description

The Black Biplane
by John Creasey

published by Sampson Low

Hardback with printed paper covered binding. No dust jacket. Heavyweight rough matte inside pages with one glossy black and-white illustration plate facing title page.

Item in good to fair condition. Slight rubbing and tearing of outer layer of cover. Mores significant rubbing to corners of binding. Inside pages in good condition but with slight signs of foxing on some pages.

From the first chapter of this book:

__________________________________________________

In a trice there was an atmosphere of tension, almost of fear, over the whole aerodrome. Two dozen men, mechanics and officials, were watching now, while the black biplane grew nearer, and yet showed plainly that it was in trouble. Everyone there knew that unless the pilot changed his methods there would be a smash. The nose dipped down, suddenly, although it was less than a thousand feet above the earth.

"The Idiot!" snapped Skip Gray. "He'll nosedive!"

"He's straightening out," said Jacko coolly. Did it well, too. Jove, the man can fly!"
