A first edition (1991), signed copy of The Cadfael Companion: The World of Brother Cadfael by Robin Whiteman with an introduction by the author of the Cadfael novels, Ellis Peters. Published by MacDonald & Co. London. A comprehensive encyclopaedia of people and places featured in the Brother Cadfael novels. Also includes three appendices on herbs, Shrewsbury Abbey and ancient kings, along with a glossary of medieval terms. Interspersed within the text are numerous small woodcut illustrations. Blue cloth ribbon marker attached. Blue cloth boards with gold illustration to front, spine and back along with gilt lettering to spine. Illustrated dustjacket and endpapers. 392 pp. measuring 23cm x 25cm.

This is a first edition, signed by both the author, Robin Whiteman and Ellis Peters, author of the Cadfael novels.

In very good, near new condition. The dustjacket is intact. The cloth boards are in as new condition. The edge of the book block is slightly stained. The interior pages are unblemished with no tears, text and illustrations are clear throughout.
