The Game and the Ground

£14.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

The Game and the Ground by Peter Vansittart. Hardback, published by Max Reinhart: London, 1956. "Here is a novel which explores one of the most significant problems of our world today: the rebuilding of lives shattered by war, the lives particularly of children orphaned and homeless who suffer in innocence and guilt of their civilisation. It describes an experimental camp in a destroyed and demoralised country, where a daring attempt is made by a handful of adults to re-educate children drawn from the savage-like gangs who are roaming the land."
The book is in very good condition with some slight foxing to the page ends. The inside pages are all tight and complete. The dust jacket is sound with some minor tears to the top and bottom of the spine and a small tear to the bottom front.
Inside front page carries an inscription which reads "To Margaret & Tommy, Merry Xmas & All the best."
