The Story on the Willow Plate

£11.95 Out Of Stock

Product description

"Everyone knows the famous blue and white Willow china pattern - the picture of three Chinese houses on a river -- three figures crossing a bridge -- a weeping willow tree and two doves at the top of the design. This is the story behind the plate, a romantic legend of a beautiful madardin's daughter who fell in love with a poor young poet. Contains blue and white illustrations in the style of the famous Chinese pattern."
This small hardback is in fair condition. The blue and white dustjacket has tanned and is chipped. Underneath, the white cloth boards have an illustration of the plate, and blue lettering to the spine and the corners are rubbed. Inside, the pages have yellowed and there is some light foxing to the endpapers.
