Health, Wealth and Happiness or Human Psychology

£12.99

Product description

A series of six individual little booklets (or possibly magazine articles) by Alexander Verner and bound together: Success and Happiness; Medical Hypnotism and Suggestion; Practical Psychometry; How to Know Your Future; Table Rapping and Automatic Writing; How to Converse with Spirit Friends.

They are not dated but the Introductions to some of the pamphlets are dated between 1904 – 10. The illustration of the author, which all booklets contain in a variety of forms, show a man with a very high stiff collar which would be consistent with the early years of the twentieth century. While there are many Psychological Societies, Wikipledia does not seem to recognise the British Psychological Institute based in Bolton, Lancashire.

The covers are in green cloth with gold lettering to front and spine and are slightly grubby. There is a purple stamp on the inside of the front and back covers (BM/FWA) and a date of Oct 1954 on the ffep. The binding is very good, but the corners and spine ends are bumped, there appears to be a torn out page between page 4 and 5 at the beginning, but there is no missing page - possibly a binding mishap. There is slight foxing and tanning to both front and rear ffeps. There are no internal marks. Some of the booklets are illustrated and there is one fold out illustration
