battle of britain in association with the royal air force

£5.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

This is more than a book. It is a boxed experience. The present moment is September 1940. Pick up a document and you are there. Feel what it might have been like to be Goering reading an order from Hitler to start the invasion of the South Coast of England. Turn a page, and you are for a moment Douglas Bader filling in his pilot's logbook, resting it on your tin legs. You read over a letter you've just written in reply to a fellow pilot's telegram informing you he is in hospital, and not dead.
Discover the Pilot's notes you need to fly a Supermarine Spitfire MK1 with a Merlin 50 engine. (Do not press the undercarriage lever past the stop. If the undercarriage lever sticks, a sharp blow with the hand usually frees it. If the pin does not engage, it is necessary to unweight the pin by diving the aeroplane, or failing that, by quickly inverting the aeroplane).
After take-off do not climb the aircraft at speeds less than 140 mph. During Combat, increase boost to allow 3,500 rpm for a maximum of 5 minutes.
You are the decoder of a secret message. You fill out a message form in pencil. Attack readiness is reduced to level 2 from Level 1. Is the Battle of Britain over?
