Suffolk Charters III. Part 2 of two volumes illuminating the social, economic and ecclesiastical organisation of the coastal are Suffolk in the 12th and 13th centuries. Domesday Book records Blythburgh as a prosperous royal town with an exceptionally well-endowed church. Its priory, the Blessed Virgin Mary, was one of the earliest of the many houses of Augustinian canons established in the diocese of Norwich in the 12th and early 13th centuries. Translated text in English together with the original Latin text is also included.

In a nice clean condition. There are a few yellow marks on the bottom of the text block. Internally very clean and fresh with a firm binding.
