This is the 13th and final volume of the trade edition of the Boswell Papers, begun in 1950 with "Boswell's London Journal". It covers the last six years of Boswell's life in which he finished his "Life of Johnson" but was haunted by doubts and fear of death. As well as diary entries there are copies of correspondence and extensive notes by the two editors.

There is an inscription in the front reading: 'Easter 1990, To Michael, This is some entertainment for you in your retirement - so few things have changed in 200 years! Best Wishes from Chris & Margaret'.

Complete with original dust jacket, which has been price-clipped. In very good clean condition throughout.
