Very good condition throughout, with virtually no marks,scuffs or knocks. The boards are yellow with a gold crest in centre. Blue wording to spine.

The parish records, edited by John Broad, covering the period. All villages and parishes listed, including Milton Keynes: "There are noe conventicles or lawfull church meetings now held in the towne or parish of Milton ... July 10th 1669"

In 1669 Archbishop Sheldon initiated a national enquiry into the state of dissenting congregations. The surviving parish returns for Bucks are here printed in full and they tell us much about the various sects, their meetings, social origins, teachers and attitudes. Also included are the summaries compiled by William Wake, Bishop of Lincoln, of the responses made by incumbents in the archdeaconry of Buckingham to his triennial visitation questionnaires, 1706-1712.
